Reuters reports that hackers could have the ability to use in-flight wireless entertainment systems to hack into the plane and actually gain access to flight controls. Other devices accessing the wireless network may also be vulnerable. Experts say that internet connectivity on airplanes should be thought of as any other internet connection and therefore vulnerable to malicious attacks. U.S. lawmakers are urging the FAA to address this by enforcing certification standards.
