Nvidia unveils laptops with 7x the Performance of MacBook Pro
Nvidia has unveiled their new RTX Studio that allows for desktop-style performance on laptops.
The laptops are targeted toward independent artists with influence in social media, digital advertising, and 3D development. Nvidia has stated that these laptops have the ability to deliver up to 7 times the performance of a MacBook Pro.
There are 17 new laptop models from seven manufacturers that are powered by a range of Nvidia GeForce and Quadro RTX GPUs.
Jason Paul, general manager of GeForce software and technology at Nvidia, stated, “The new RTX Studio laptops are the perfect tool for creatives who need desktop-class performance while on the go. Pairing RTX GPUs, which enable real-time ray tracing, AI processing and high-resolution video editing, with studio-grade drivers allows us to surpass the increasing demands of today’s creator.”
These Quadro and GeForce RTX-based laptops are purpose-built for GPU-accelerated content creation and will feature the new Quadro RTX 5000 mobil GPU and GeForce RTX 2080, 2070, and 2060 GPUs. Quadro RTX 5000-based laptops are the world’s first with 16GB of graphics memory, which enables advanced multi-app creative workflows and the use of large 3D models which were previously not possible while on the go.
The new RTX Studio laptops will be available starting in June from top computer makers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, MSI, and Razer. Pricing will start at $1,600 and will vary based on partner designs, features, and region.
