Version 1903 for Windows 10 has made its debut

The Microsoft Windows 10 May Update, version 1903, has been released and is available to both business customers and consumers.

If you’re not already running the previously most recent Windows 10 update – version 1809 – don’t worry; you’ll be able to go straight to the version 1903 update.

If you’re ready to install the May 2019 update, there are only a couple of steps to follow. First, open your Windows Update Settings (Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update) and select Check for Updates. Once the update appears, you can select Download and install now.

Once the download of the update is complete and the update is ready to be installed, you’ll be notified of your options so that you can pick what time you’d like to finish the installation and computer restart.

This update version has the new “download and install now” option that we previously blogged about here https://rhynonetworks.com/microsoft-rolls-out-download-and-install-now-option/

Along with the new “download and install now” option, a new “reserved storage” feature that is meant to improve the success rate of installation on machines with limited storage by allocating storage space specifically for updates.

One of the very cool features included in this May Update is something called Windows Sandbox. This feature allows for Pro, Enterprise, and Education users to run potentially risky software in isolation, so that if the software is infected with malware, it will not affect the operating system or other applications and can be easily removed.

The ability to uninstall more built-in apps and a simpler default Start menu on new accounts/PCs add even more reasons to upgrade to this update.
