Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Flip phone with foldable glass display.
After Samsung’s Galaxy Fold issues and failure, they’ve decided to release a different kind of foldable phone.
The Galaxy Z Flip phone, which released on February 14, 2020, retails for $1,380.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip is similar to a Motorola Razr, as it is a regular smartphone that folds closed into a smaller device.
The Z Flip has a 6.7-inch OLED display that bends in half. Samsung class this display the “Infinity Flex Display.” It is the first foldable phone that is made of glass. Previous phone displays have been made of plastic, which is more malleable, but less durable.
This phone runs on a Snapdragon 855+ chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
Unfortunately, this phone doesn’t offer a headphone jack.
There is also a fingerprint reader on the right side of the phone.
Featured on the outside of the phone is a small display next to the dual cameras. This screen shows the time, battery life, and other notifications.
Samsung states that the hinge of the Z Flip has special fibers inside in order to help block out dust and debris. The hinge also snaps at different angles.
There are three cameras on this phone. A center-aligned 10-megapixel selfie camera, and two 12-megapixel cameras on the back. The 12-megapixel cameras are divided into a main camera and an ultra-wide.
The Galaxy Z Flip phone comes in three colors: Mirror Purple, Mirror Black, and Mirror Gold.
