Display issues cause Samsung’s Galaxy Fold launch to be delayed

Samsung has announced that they will delay the release of their first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, after reviewers found problems with the display.

The phones were all being reviewed by select journalists and have not begun to ship to consumers.

The launch of the Galaxy Fold was delayed after several reviewers complained of complete display failure after only a couple of days.

Reportedly, the design of the smartphone will be changed so as to strengthen its display.

Samsung has stated that they will thoroughly inspect the units in person in order to assess what caused the display failures.

It was initially reported that the launch would just be moved to May, but instead Samsung has now confirmed that the delay for the Galaxy Fold is indefinite until workable solutions can be implemented.

The company is aiming to be the first to the market with a foldable phone. Currently, the Galaxy Fold will be retailing for $1,980.
