Microsoft has announced a design change for Windows 10

An announcement was made on the Windows blog that let users know about a new Windows 10 Start menu design that will take the emphasis off of the tile display.

On the blog, Microsoft stated “We are freshening up the Start menu with a more streamlined design that removes the solid color back plates behind the logos in the apps list and applies a uniform, partially transparent background to the tiles.”

This is in an effort to simplify the design and make it easier for users to scan for the apps they use on a daily basis. With this change, the Start menu will look less chaotic.

Alt-Tab is also getting an upgrade.

In this latest Windows 10 build, all tabs open in Microsoft Edge will start appearing in Alt-Tab, instead of just the active tab in each browser window. A fantastic change if you like to switch between tabs regularly.

Microsoft has also made it easier to quickly dismiss notifications, as they’ve now added an X in the top right corner.

Additional improvements are also promised in the future that will bring Settings closer to Control Panel, so be on the lookout for those.
